Second Life^™

NSW Animal Rescue is embracing the new internet community.

^{Second Life™ was created in 2003 and is a 3D virtual
world.

It is populated by millions of residents from all over the world, and
this

vast digital continent
is full of entertainment and experiences.}
^{NSW Animal Rescue has been a part of Second Life™
for some time now.

A virtual shelter within a worldwide community, and a full time real life
volunteer co-ordinating the activities of NSWAR within the

Second Life™
world.}
We have been invited to join 44 other charities, some well known and
other not so well known in Australia, to set up an office in the
Virtual World on the internet, the “Second Life^™”.

A group of philanthropists created an island entirely devoted to
charities, where invited non-profit charities were
allocated office space.

NSW Animal Rescue has now got an office in this virtual world
where we are promoting our mission as well as raising funds.

Our office in Second Life^™

Second Life^™ is a 3-D virtual world created by its Residents.
Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively
and today is inhabited by millions of Residents from
around the globe.

· From the moment you enter the World you'll discover a vast digital continent, teeming with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity. Once you've explored a bit, perhaps you'll find a perfect parcel of land to build your house or business.

· You'll also be surrounded by the Creations of your fellow Residents. Because Residents retain intellectual property rights in their digital creations, they can buy, sell and trade with other Residents.

· The Marketplace currently supports millions of US dollars in monthly transactions. This commerce is handled with the in-world unit of trade, the Linden^™ dollar, which can be converted to US dollars at several thriving online Linden^™ dollar exchanges. u
