Smithers
Smithers arrived at our shelter, along with Monty and Betsy.
All three dogs were in an appalling state, and
Smithers
had
suffered more abuse than his companions.
We cannot show some of the horrific photographs of Smithers,
where a
substance like
burning oil had been poured over
his back, leaving him with full
thickness burns to a
large
area of his body.
These photographs are too graphic to place
on a
public website.
His matted fur covered many of his physical wounds and scars.
Smithers spent the first week of his stay at the shelter in the
critical
care facility, but sadly succumbed to the
infection that had overtaken
his weak body.
Rest in Peace Smithers, we are so sorry that you arrived
at the shelter too late for us to
help you.
